| Lovely cool morning for a race. I hadn't had the best week on the running front. I've been suffering with allergies, and legs have felt lifeless. However, felt good during my warm up, and decided to "go for it" in the first couple of miles, and then see what I had left in the tank. I was very consistent, and all of my miles were wtihin 5 seconds of each other. I didn't quite pull off a PR, but I was close, and given all that has happened of late I will take it! |

Easy run ont he trail as coach didn't want us doing the hill workout after the race. Probably wise as wanted to see how my foot was doing. I'd put my foot in a small pot hole during the race. It hurt for a second, but then was fine. Started hurting that evening until I could barely walk. However, took some ibuprofen and then it was fien the next morning. All a bit strange really. |

| Poor run today. However, I was a bit emotionally drained. War, up then 2 miles at 10K pace, and then a cool down. Had hoped for more, but you get what you can take sometimes. |

| This was supposed to be 3 mile warm up, 10 a MGP, and then a 1 mile cool down. Alas the humidity got to me, and I started to badly overheat so had to shut it down after just 4 1/2 faster miles. Oh well, roll on the cool weather ;o) |

Hill workout today. I did a long warm up then 5 x hard up a hill (12th & Lamar), and then back to the house. Next time I'll do 7 or 8 repeats up the hill, but didn't want to overdo it the first time out. |

| Progressive run on the trail. I had meant to do this yesterday, but glad I waited as cooler weather, and needed to work off a stressful day at work. So I di a warm up, and then 4 progressive miles (6:40, 6:32, 6:26 & 6:15), and then a cool down. I was pretty pleased with that. |

| 2 mle warm up, then 3 miles of 2 minutes on, 1 minute off, and then a mile cool down. Wanted to go further, but legs feel very sluggish at the moment. Not a good sign with the race on Sunday. However, the big goal is still a few months away. |

Fantastic morning for a run. Cool, slight breeze, and he humidity wasn't to bad either. I didn't go in with hopes of a good time, but decided to go out reasonably fast and see what i could do. First mile was around 6:55, and then the second mile around 7:10, third mile was 7:05. I wasn't feeling great at this point, but just tried to hold onto that pace and get close to 70 minutes. I went through half way in pretty much 35 minutes even. Still felt a little tired, but knew it was about 1 mile more mile of hills and then a much flatter final 3 miles. I found some pace in the final few miles, mile 8, 9 and 10 were the fastest of the entire race. The final mile was around 6:15, helped in large part due to Derhammer telling me to catch the guy with the ponytail ;o). I caught him, and a few others. My legs were hurting, I was tired, but it was the impetus I needed to eek out a few more seconds. Thank you sir. So all in all I am very pleased. It wasn't a PR, but given everything that has happened of late, and the lack of consistent running then I still have hope of a decent time in February. What decent is will be determined by the new couple of months. Its now time for "knuckle down November". The goal is 4 weeks of 50+ miles. The gauntlet has been thrown down. Let's hope I can meet my own challenge ;o).
